The Philadelphia Antiques Show
Fore & Aft – Philadelphia Collects Maritime
April 12-15, 2008

Philadelphia Hospitality invites you to plan a delightful multi-day visit for your group of antiques enthusiasts.

2008 marks the 47th anniversary of The Philadelphia Antiques Show, recognized as of the nation's premier antiques events. Over 50 of the country's leading dealers will display museum-quality antiques and decorative arts including American and English furniture, porcelain, silver, rare books, prints and maps, textiles, folk art and jewelry.

This year's loan exhibit, Fore & Aft - Philadelphia Collects Maritime, features maritime antiques with a special emphasis on pieces made and used in the Philadelphia region.

In addition to your private, docent-led tour of the Antiques Show prior to the show's public hours, your group's personalized multi-day program could include:

  • Attendance at the Antiques Show's festive opening night Gala Reception and Dinner on the evening of April 11th

  • Lunch at the Corinthian Yacht Club of Philadelphia which houses a collection of Thomas H. Willis paintings and Frederic S. Cozzens prints

  • A tour of the world's largest collection of maritime photography, The Art of the Boat, Photographs by Morris Rosenfeld & Sons, at the Independence Seaport Museum, the first venue to host this exhibition outside of Mystic Seaport

  • A tour of the major exhibition, Frida Kahlo, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the first American exhibition solely dedicated to Kahlo's work in over a decade

  • A visit to the renowned Barnes Foundation, home to one of the world's finest private collections of Impressionist and early-modern art

  • A performance of the Philadelphia Orchestra in its new home at the architecturally-acclaimed Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

  • And the signature piece of all Philadelphia Hospitality programs, lunch or afternoon tea in a private home or club
