The Historical Society of Pennsylvania, holder of documents we all revere, opened its doors to Philadelphia Hospitality's Associates for a very special evening in June, 2008.
Over 100 of Philadelphia Hospitality's most generous friends were on hand for an exciting visit to Philadelphia's national asset where they met The Historical Society of Pennsylvania's President, Kim Sajet, and her senior staff who presented
a rare opportunity for close scrutiny of incredible treasures.
Friends examind core documents of the founding and early development of the United States including the only extant printer's proof of The Declaration of Independence, the earliest surviving version of The Constitution of the United States, a rare copy of The Emancipation Proclamation signed by Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Holme's copper plate for the first map of the City of Philadelphia used by William Penn for real estate promotion of the city.
While learning more about The Historical Society's collection, guests enjoyed a lovely reception catered by STARR Events, which featured the most celebrated dishes from STARR Restaurants' exciting menus.
We thank Centerra Wine Company for its generosity and especially the West Insurance Group for underwriting this event. West Insurance Group
