This past June, Philadelphia Hospitality was delighted to honor Alfred P. West, Jr. Our 12th Annual Award Gala was held in the beautiful Samuel M. V. Hamilton Building at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. The dinner and reception paid tribute to Al's creative leadership in the economic, cultural and educational life of our community.
Admired for his innovative management style, respected for his commitment to learning, and applauded for his tireless championing of the arts, Al is a richly-deserving recipient of the Vision for Philadelphia Award.
Al's boundless creativity enriches us at every turn. His imaginative vision for SEI's corporate headquarters has expanded the possibilities of workplace design in a way that fascinates artists and management experts alike.
His nurturing of the Wharton learning lab that bears his name inspires both educators and entrepreneurs. His quiet but generous support of such institutions as the University of Pennsylvania, Paoli Hospital, The Shipley School, Benchmark School, Select Greater Philadelphia, the World Affairs Council and many others, sets a standard for donors everywhere. And his brilliant direction of SEI is a striking confirmation of the success that can be achieved right here in our region.
