Each spring Philadelphia Hospitality presents the prestigious Vision for Philadelphia Award in keeping with our work of highlighting the best of Philadelphia. The award showcases an extraordinary individual whose leadership has transformed Philadelphia into a city to value, a city to love, and a city of which we are tremendously proud.
 Carole Haas Gravagno |
Philadelphia Hospitality honored Carole Haas Gravagno at our 11th annual Award Gala in the dramatic Samuel M. V. Hamilton Building at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts on Tuesday, June 15, 2004. Our dinner and reception paid tribute to Carole's vital leadership in the cultural and educational life of our community.
Carole’s hands-on commitment to the education of Philadelphia’s children and her devotion to our region’s cultural institutions make her an exemplary recipient of our Vision for Philadelphia Award for 2004.
Carole’s tireless service on the boards of the Please Touch Museum, the National Liberty Museum and Settlement Music School reflects the enormous place in her heart that children occupy.
Her energetic leadership as a member of the boards of The Philadelphia Orchestra, on which she serves as a Vice Chair, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, the Arden Theatre Company, The People’s Light & Theatre Company and Intercultural Journeys reflects her passion for music, her love of the theatre, her respect for diverse cultures through their arts and her dedication to all in our community.
Carole’s vital leadership is far-reaching. Wherever there is a need in the cultural and educational organizations of our city, whether at venerable institutions or within emerging groups, Carole makes a difference. Art in City Hall, the Child Development Foundation, Educating Children for Parenting, Germantown Academy, Morris Arboretum, Parents’ Network and, we are delighted to note, our own Philadelphia Hospitality, are all the richer for Carole’s dynamic guidance.
We are proud to recognize Carole for her outstanding contributions to our community – and for her inspired vision for its future.
