Join Philadelphia Hospitality for a daylong tour of fabulous historic homes awash in Holiday splendor!


Itinerary

Saturday, December 5
9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Join your fellow travelers at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center for morning refreshments before boarding your motor coach for a day-long YULETIDE TOUR of the historic homes of Fairmount Park and the Brandywine Valley.

Your tour begins with visits to two of the Fairmount Park Houses, Lemon Hill and Laurel Hill which served as country estates for prominent Philadelphians during the late 1700s and early 1800s. These stately homes rank high among the Hinest groups of authentic early American houses in the nation.

Delight in a tour of Yuletide at Winterthur a celebration of the beauty and joy of holiday gatherings. The former home of Henry Francis du Pont, today Winterthur is a sprawling, nine-story museum with an unrivaled collection of American decorative arts dating from 1640 to 1860. There are 175 period-room displays in the museum and approximately 85,000 objects.

Prior to your tour will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at your leisure in Winterthur’s Garden Café.

Spend the remainder of the day enjoying Longwood Garden’s Holiday Festival featuring acres of lighted outdoor displays and an atrium Hilled with holiday decorations and Hlowers. Once the private estate of Pierre S. du Pont, today’s Longwood Gardens is regarded as one of the world’s great gardens and a magniHicent horticultural showplace.
